Sunday services

Church isn't all about Sundays, but our Sunday services are an important part of our life together.

If you join us on a Sunday, you’ll find a mixed bag of people.  Most of us have a Christian faith, but some of us are still exploring.  Regulars and visitors come bringing their questions, objections, struggles, doubts and encouragements. Through the service, children’s ministry, question times and over coffee, we look to create opportunities for people to engage in ways that will help them.

We do our best to make Sundays accessible to everyone and anyone. Whether you have never been to a church service before, or have some kind of church background, we hope you will be able to engage and participate.

Services themselves have fairly relaxed ‘family’ feel. Despite the informality, we’re serious about what we’re doing when we meet together.  We gather to encourage each other through music and prayer, and to hear and respond to the Bible read and preached.  We’re convinced that where the Bible is taught with thought, love, and prayer, God's voice is heard in a way that is relevant and life-changing.

We love singing together and praising God through the music. Our services have a mix of contemporary music and more traditional hymns, generally played by a band from the front. Every now and then, however, we enjoy the church organ. You are welcome to sing out loud with the congregation, or just sit back and enjoy the words.

The service is dotted with prayers by a range of people, which we hope are accessible for all. We invite you to pray along with us as we speak to the creator of the universe.

Children’s activities run in side rooms, beginning about 15 minutes into the service.  We have groups for 3-18 year-olds,

  • Creche (0-3s)

  • Tots' group (3-5s)

  • Sunday Gang (5-11s)

  • The Bridge (12-18s)

Generally, services last about an hour and a quarter, and slightly longer on the first Sunday of the month when we share communion. After the service, there’s time over coffee and snacks to meet and catch up with people. There's also the chance to talk some more about the Bible teaching we’ve just heard for those who want to.

Also once a month, we also have a 'bring and share' lunch as a church family after the service. Don't worry if you don't have anything yourself, stay and enjoy the food - there's plenty to go around! Check out our calendar to see when things are happening.
